Trainings

Aim  In order to engage with more farmers, Farmers Pride organized informal interactions, small meetings and trainings. These training are provided for sensitizing people towards organic farming, developing knowledge, building expertise and skills in farming. The trainers have used discussions, demonstrations, travel programs, small group discussions, videos and hands on experiential training in their methods. After the training all the farmers remain connected through whatsapp and calls for follow up questions.

1. Farm as an ecosystem
2. Balance in nature
3. Interrelationship between various species
4. Role of micronutrients and microbes
5. Planning farming activities & farm design
6. Mixed cropping -how different crops play complementary role with examples.
7. Seed conservation – self dependence on seeds and nature & role of evolution
8. Compost making – various types of composts (green, cow dung based, jeevamrit)
9. Herbal pesticides making for various problems, sharing formulae

Awareness Programs

 

First Organic Farming training with self-funding and expenditure– 100 farmers participated in training facilitated by Padma Shri Bharat Bhushan Tyagi Ji at Farmers Pride Jareli Takhatpur, Bilaspur in July 2016.

 

Second Organic Farming training for 200 farmers was conducted in Jan Swasthya Sahyog Ganiyari, Kota, Bilaspur coordinated and self-funded by farmer groups in 2017 in 22-23 October, 2016.

 

Third Organic Farming training – practical hands on training for farmers 24 October, 2016 in Jareli (Prakriti Organics).

 

Exposure visit for 20 farmers – participation in international organic fest, New Delhi (November, 2016).

Many small meetings, awareness programs & follow up visits to farm also conducted during this period(2016-2020).

 

Also, self-funded renovation of shop in Rama Magneto Mall (where products related to Bilaspur Organic farmers are sold).

 

Hosted multiple farmer groups, student groups and orientation program of farmers from other states between 2018-20.

Hosted Gandhi fellowship fellow for social & agro-based entrepreneurship.

 

6 week Internship program with 10 students of BITS Pilani for web-design, content creation, using data analytics, software in agro-business, etc. in 2020
